Axolotl

The axolotl (Ambystoma mexicanum), also known as the Mexican walking fish, is closely related to the tiger salamander. Despite its name, the axolotl is not actually a fish but an amphibian. It is famous for its unique appearance and its ability to regenerate body parts.

An axolotl usually grows between 6 to 14 inches in length. Its cute smile-like face, feathery external gills, and unusual features have made it one of the world’s most fascinating and adorable animals.
